CENTRAL ASIA RUSSIAN SPEAKERS
The Word of God for Central Asian Russian Speakers
The Central Asian Russian Scripture (CARS) project was born to reach the 20 million Central Asian people who live in the Tatar and Bashkir regions, the western parts of the North Caucasus area and many capital cities in Central Asia. In this area, the people read Russian as their first language; however, because of their Islamic culture, they have difficulty relating to terms used in the existing Russian Bible (1). As a result of the CARS project, the Bible will be easier to understand as it will incorporate terminology the listeners are familiar with.
Several leaders in Central Asia Russian ministries are anxiously awaiting the Davar audio to create Bible studies, develop social media outreach, video clips with scripture, radio programs and more. Within 5 years, an estimated 40 outreach teams will bring the audio Bible to Muslims in the CARS region.
